For every performance Piedmont Opera and the Crosby Scholars partner to offer all Crosby Scholars free admission to our Student Night and Tuesday evening performances. Crosby Scholar chaperones attend for $15 on Student Night and $20 on Tuesday night. Student night is designed for students and their chaperones only.
Student Night at the Opera
The Student Night performance for “Mary, Queen of Scots” is on October 16th at 7:30 PM and for “The King and I” on March 18th at 7:30 PM. Student Night at the Opera is the final dress rehearsal for the performance and is an opportunity for students to witness professional opera performances. Student Night is designed for students and their chaperones only.
Typically Student Night runs between 2 ½ -3 hours (including any intermissions). It is perfectly acceptable to leave at intermission due to the fact that this is a school night for most children. Groups are highly discouraged from leaving at any other point during the performance as it disturbs other patrons.
We offer a Student Night Package that includes both of Piedmont Opera’s student night performances and the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute’s student night at a discounted rate.
Admission to Student Night
Admission is $5 for students and $15 for accompanying chaperones. Adults cannot exceed the total number of students present per group. Each student and chaperone will be issued an individual ticket with seating assignment in order to enter the theatre. Payment is required at time of ticket purchase. For a discounted subscription for all three operas, call us at 336.725.7101. If traveling by school/activity bus please let us know ahead of time to arrange for bus parking. Students will enter the theatre with their school group with their tickets in hand.
Girl Scout Night at the Opera
Girl Scouts are invited to a live performance of Piedmont Opera’s productions. Prior to the performance, there will be a chance to meet a member of the cast, discuss the opera and ask questions. This event is exclusive to members of the Girl Scouts, and fun badges will be given to the first 75 Girl Scouts at the preshow talk. Tickets for the opera performance are $5 for students, $15 for adults, and free for Crosby Scholars. Call 336-725-7101 to purchase tickets for the performance and register for the free pre-show discussion. Girl Scout night is on October 16, 2019 and March 18, 2020. The talk begins at 6:30 PM.
