WINSTON-SALEM, NC (10/15/2024) —Piedmont Opera, a leading regional opera company, is excited to announce the appointment of Monique Farrell as its new Senior Director of Development. This position is funded through the generosity of the James G. Hanes Foundation.
Ms. Farrell brings a wealth of experience to the company, with an impressive 27-year career in development in the Winston-Salem community. Her diverse experience spans the arts, health and human services, higher education, and senior living. She has a proven track record of successful fundraising initiatives, strategic planning, and community engagement.

In her new role, Ms. Farrell will be a key player in aligning the company's fundraising strategies with its vision and goals. She will work closely with the board of directors, staff, and community stakeholders to develop innovative strategies. Her experience in capital campaigns, annual fund campaigns, events, solicitation, cultivation, and relationship building will be instrumental in enhancing Piedmont Opera's visibility and financial sustainability throughout the Greater Triad.

Monique holds a degree from Salem College, is an avid supporter of the arts, and has volunteered with Piedmont Opera for many years.
