A Note from The Maestro
May 21 @ 8:00 am - June 1 @ 5:00 pm
TO OUR GENEROUS PATRONS
I cannot believe it has only been a month since we had to cancel our beautiful production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I. On behalf of the board and staff of Piedmont Opera, I want to say thank you to all of our patrons for their help, patience and understanding surrounding the need to cancel our performance. I particularly want to thank those of you who generously turned your ticket purchase into a donation to the company. While we are so sorry that you did not get to see the show, we were ready for you! Our principal artists and ensemble members had been rehearsing for three weeks, and costumes, lights, and scenery were all loaded into the Stevens Center. Even though we never gave a show, we had to cover the costs of all that work. Without your generosity, Piedmont Opera might be in serious trouble right now. While we are not out of the woods yet, I can say that the production has recovered from the financial blow of COVID-19. For that, we are very grateful to you, our audience. I hope we get to see you all in the theater very soon. Until then, please be smart and safe.
